Bachelor of Science Degree in Media Arts

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Media Arts prepares students with a broad range of graphic design and technical knowledge for a career in Multimedia Design, 3D Animation, Digital Video Production, Web Site Development, and Graphic Design.

Students will learn advanced techniques in digital imaging, 3D modeling, and web design allowing them to express their creativity using visual technology. This technology has advanced the graphic design industry combining audio, video, text, graphics, and animation, creating a new era of designers.

Upon successful completion of this Media Arts Degree program, students will be prepared to provide an employer with advanced skills in media arts. Potential job opportunities may include: entry-level commercial developers, multimedia graphic designer, 3D animator, game level designer, special effects artist, motion graphic artist, or web graphic designer.

The general education component of this program will provide an understanding of social, behavioral and environmental sciences, humanities, language, art history, communication and math. An emphasis is placed on people skills, critical thinking and problem solving.

Prerequisite:

• An Associate Degree from Platt College San Diego or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Term III - D103 or solid understanding of HTML & CSS.
• An acceptable portfolio reviewed by our experienced faculty.
